Criticism of Video Games
The President of the United States, Barack Obama, during his Father’s Day inspired parents to tell their kids to “turn off the video games and pick up a book”.
Also Obamatalked about other things, like: “growing up without a father and why it is important to have the father’s figure in a child’s life”. He wants to interfere in the relationships between fathers andkids but to try to improve them as fathers, kids and as a Society.
In my opinion the point of view of Obama is correct. I mean, to encourage parents to tell that to their kids is something good for thefuture of the society, the children can play video games but in a moderated way.
Also the video games teach, people who play them, a lot because it helps them to know how to pronounce the wordswell, learn many new words and learn history or not, maybe they are educative but that kind of games are for more young children. For example: There are many games based in history, like: “Age of Empires,it is about the eras, another one it could be. “Stalker”, that one is about the nuclear accident in Chernobyl. Another one more popular is the “Battlefield 1 and 2” and there are about the SecondWorld War and Vietnam War.
In conclusion, it is okay that Obama want to improve this relationship, between fathers and kids, society, etc. But also children can continue playing if they want but withmoderation.
Another article, also criticizing the video games because they are violent and makes you more aggressive like the old games: Doom, Wolfenstein 3D or Mortal Kombat. These games newly listedcan make a person violent after playing these types of games.
In my opinion is not like that because it has to do with the person, for example: I’m not like that because I played a lot of violentvideo games and I continue playing them but I did not become a violent or aggressive person because of that and many of my friends also.
In conclusion it depends on the persons, their attitude, their...
