Joan Elizabeth Osborne (nacida el 8 de julio de 1962, Anchorage, Kentucky, EE. UU.) es una cantante y compositora estadounidense. Ella es más conocida por su canción "One of Us" y por su trabajo con los miembros de The Grateful Dead.
Originaria de Louisville, Kentucky suburbio de Anchorage, Osborne se trasladó a Nueva York a finales de 1980, donde formó supropio sello discográfico, Womanly Hips, y para publicar varias grabaciones independientes antes de firmar con Mercury Records, Soul Show: Live at Delta 88 (1991) fue su primer álbum. Joan Elizabeth Osborne (born July 8, 1962,Anchorage, Kentucky, USA. UU.) Is a singer and songwriter. She is best known for his song "One of Us" and for his work with members of The Grateful Dead.
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky suburb of Anchorage, Osborne moved to New York in late 1980, where he formed his own label, Womanly Hips, and to publish several independent recordings before signing to Mercury Records, Soul Show: Live atDelta 88 (1991) was his first album. His second (and first major label) album was Relish (1995), which became a hit thanks to its unique single "One of Us". The song was much more pop-oriented than the rest of the album, which was steeped in country, blues and popular music. "Right Hand Man" and "St. Teresa" were less successful than "One of Us".

She appeared in the 2002 documentary film,Standing in the Shadows of Motown, and toured with Motown Records and The Funk Brothers. She and her band accompanied the Dixie Chicks for a national tour in the summer of 2003, during which time he also joined the band of veterans in San Francisco as a vocalist, The Dead, and released his fourth album, entitled "How Sweet It Is ", a collection of versions of classic rock and soul.
During 2005 and 2006,Osborne appeared on numerous occasions with Phil Lesh and Friends. In February 2007, appeared on the Grand Ole Opry.
