I remember the moment I became a mother
It was a spring morning in 2007, when I heard the words: “you’re pregnant". I was two months pregnant on my 27th birthday. My name is Julitza Martinez,throughout my younger years I always ruled out the possibility of someday becoming a mother, Afraid of the great responsibility that was bringing a child into the world, but when I met with my husbandLuis, he changed my point of view about the family. Moments of joy fill my heart every time I remember the moment I became a mother for the first time.
As soon as I heard the news; I ran to mysister Ronnette’s house to tell her about it. Afterwards, I called my husband Luis and told him “when you get out of work, go to my sister’s house. It was around 4:00pm when I gave the good news tomy husband "you will be a dad”. This moment was so great for him that he fell down on the floor of emotion. We were going to be parents for the first time.
Bottom of FormThe first months weredifficult because I had symptoms of miscarriage. At Around 4 months when I did my sonogram I knew my baby was a boy. Every month I was gaining more and more weight. I looked like a balloon about topop. I got to 230 pounds. Finally on the morning of January 10, 2008, at around 9:00am, I started having labor pains. I called 911 because I was alone with my mom at the house, and the ambulancesarrived quickly. We arrived at the hospital Shady Groove in Rockville Md in just 10 minutes, and exactly at 7:00 pm my first son was born, we named him Luis Julian.
We were so full of happiness thatwe decide had another child, almost two years ago I had the great blessing of becoming a mother for the second time. On December 7, 2010 I gave birth to another boy called Gerathon. Becoming a mother Ihad radically changed my life to one filled with happiness.
