Wolff began his acting career at theage of six in the 2005 musical comedy film The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie, winning the Audience Award for Family Feature Film at the Hamptons International Film Festival. Itwas commissioned by Nickelodeon as the pilot to the television series The Naked Brothers Band, which broadcasted from 2007-2009 and earned him one BMI Cable Award for writing theseries' music and two Young Artist Award nominations. The show released two albums and the song "Crazy Car" ranked #23 on the Top 200 Billboard Charts. He also portrayed theyoung boy in the Fall Out Boy music video "The Take Over, The Breaks Over" (2007). In 2009, Wolff made a cameo in the Nickelodeon TV movie Mr. Troop Mom and the USApolice-procedural comedy-drama Monk. He acted in his playwright What Would Woody Do? At The Flea Theater and the HBO medical drama In Treatment, both in 2010. He also appeared in the comedy filmThe Sitter (2011) and will star in the upcoming film Hair Brained in 2012.
Wolff is the son of actress Polly Draper, who created, directed, wrote and produced The NakedBrothers Band series and film, and jazz pianist Michael Wolff, who co-starred and produced the music. His elder brother actor/musician and singer-songwriter Nat Wolff starred alongsidehe in the series and film and also wrote and performed the music. Wolff and his brother recently formed a duo called Nat & Alex Wolff and they released an album called Black Sheep
