Taylor was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan United States, son of Daniel and Deborah Lautner. It has roots in France, German, Dutch andNative American (Potawatomi and Ottawa) by his mother. It has a sister named Makena Lautner born 12 years in 1999.
Lautner studied karate from six to thirteen, training at Fabiano's Karate School inHolland, Michigan. The year after its inception, and began to win championships. He was invited to train with seven-time world karate champion, Michael Chaturantabut, and when he was eight, he wasinvited to represent their country in the World Karate Association where, in the category Junior World Forms and Weapons, won three gold medals. With only eleven years, was ranked number one in the world ofNASKA's Black Belt Open Forms, Musical Weapons, Traditional Weapons and Traditional Forms, and at the age of twelve, he won the Junior World Championship Martial Arts.

Artistic career.
His firstrole was in 2001, appearing in the film Shadow Fury. He also had roles as an extra in Summerland, The Bernie Mac Show and My Wife and Kids.He also got small roles in numerous television seriesincluding The Nick & Jessica Variety Hour. Appeared on America's Most Talented Kids, giving a display of martial arts. Taylor appeared in the Cassie Thompson Music Video "Caught up in you".Regardingtelevision, gave voice to animated characters such as Danny Phantom Youngblood, Silas of Silas and Brittany, episodes of What's New Scooby-Doo?
