Fernando Botero
Fernando Botero Angulo is a painter, sculptor and draftsman Colombian born onApril 19, 1932 in Medellin (Colombia). Living artist is considered the most prizednative to LatinAmerica in the world today. Universal art icon, extensive work is recognized by children and adults of all parties equally.
His early works of portraits, landscapes and genre scenes are made with a veryloose brush strokes, which will be progressively bound, while both the perspectiveas the figures are arbitrary.
In the early sixties Fernando Botero moved to New York, where his paintings won himconsiderable popularity in the U.S. art market. Among his best known worksinclude the bridal chamber, Mona Lisa at twelve and Chitosan. His move to Pariscoincided with her first sculptural works, whichshared the characteristics of his paintings.
As a child was enrolled in a school of fighters from the city of Medellin at the request of an uncle, who never imagined that his real vocation waspainting.
