Worm Lab Information Conclusion

The experiment of the worm that is taken the last week, it demonstrated that the worms do not like light.

Theprocedure of the the experiment was the next. The first step is to take 3 worms (because the scientist wanted to see the differences between 3 wormsinstead of 2 worms), one of them is a control , the other 2 were test worms. So, the second step is to put on a transparent cup and take 2 differentcellophane (blue and red) to see how they react with different color and different light intensity by moving away de lamp or approaching it.

Thefirst worm which is the control is moving slowly randomly (wherever it wants), but the second one is trying to go to the shadow when the red and the bluelight are lightning the worm, but the low light intensity does not affect the worm, however, the high light intensity it affects it and makes it moveto the shadow by covering all it’s body. The third worm react the same way as the first, but the third worm instead of trying to go the shadow, it istrying to leave the cup.

This lab demonstrated that the earthworms hate the light, they are photophobic animals, the ultraviolet ray can kill them(Sun light), they have sensors in the the epidermis (the top of the skin) that detects the Sun lights and let them know if the light is hitting themor not. The reason why the earthworms hate the light is because they do not have scales as others animals to protect themselves from the sunlights.
