3. INTRODUCTION:
SpongeBob Square Pants (often referred to simply as SpongeBob) is an American animated television series, created by a marinebiologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg.
Much of the series centres in the adventures of Bob and his friends in the underwater city "Bikini Bottom".
The series' popularity has prompted therelease of a media franchise, contributing to its position as Nickelodeon's highest rated show, the most distributed property of MTV Networks, and among Nicktoons' most-watched shows.
The pilot episode ofSpongeBob Square Pants first aired in the United States on Nickelodeon on May 1, 1999.
4. CHARACTERS:
5. SpongeBob SquarePants: is an extremely energetic and optimistic sea sponge (although hisappearance more closely resembles a kitchen sponge) who lives in a pineapple under the sea with his pet snail Gary, who meows like a cat. Although Gary only actually speaks in a few episodes, thecharacters have shown an ability to understand him.
6. Patrick Star: He lives two houses down from SpongeBob and is his best friend. He is a friendly pink sea star who lives under a rock.
7. Squidward Tentacles: He lives between Bob and Patrick; he is an arrogant and egotistical octopus who lives in an Easter Island moai and dislikes his neighbours (especially SpongeBob) for their child-likebehaviour. He enjoys playing the clarinet and painting self-portraits.
8. Sandy Cheeks: She is a squirrel from Texas, who was sent to Bikini Bottom to do scientific research. Sandy is an expert atkarate and lives in an underwater tree dome. When she is not inside of her tree dome, she wears an astronaut suit because she cannot breathe in water.
9. Mr. Krabs: He is a former officer cadet forthe Bikini Bottom Navy force and war veteran, he is also miserable and he is obsessed with money. He is the owner of the Krusty Krab restaurant.
10. Sheldon Plankton: He is Mr. Krabs’ archenemy....
