Sherlock Holmes and the Important Exam Paper

1. quien dice estas cosas? ¿qué están hablando?
A. “You’re the right person, Mr Holmes. Only you can help.”El que dice estas palabras es el profesor de la universidad, Hilton Soames, quien recurre a Sherlock Holmes de una manera desesperada, ya que el educador no quería que ningún extraño se entere del problema que había surgido.

B. “The third page was on your desk, am I right?”
El que dice estas palabras es Sherlock Holmes. En ese momento del relato, él se encontraba develando el misterioque giraba sobre el examen; además, estaba recolectando pistas y sacando hipótesis de cómo actuó el que entró al despacho del profesor.

C. “I felt very bad about it later, sir.”
El que dice esas palabras es Bannister, el criado del prof. Hilton Soames. En ese momento del texto, él estaba siendo cuestionado e interrogado por Sherlock Holmes. El detective le preguntaba sobre la llave que habíaolvidado en la puerta, la hora en la que entró a la habitación, si había mirado los papeles que estaban sobre el escritorio, etc.

En este momento del relato, el detective sale al patio con sus acompañantes (el profesor y su amigo) y, se pone a razonar sobre los tres estudiantes, concluye afirmando que unode ellos es el que no está tranquilo, y quería a la brevedad conocer a los posibles autores del hecho.

E. “I’m busy. I can’t see anybody!”
El que dice estas palabras es último alumno que iba a ser interrogado. McLaren se negó a ser visitado argumentando que estaba ocupado y que no podía atender a nadie en ese momento, ya que debía estudiar. A Sherlock Holmes no le llama mucho la atención,sólo preguntó por la estatura del alumno y luego, decidió marcharse del lugar para poder pensar con más tranquilidad.
