Before the Industrial revolution, textiles were made by a cottage industry. During the Industrial Revolution, machines replacedhand tools in the manufacturing of goods, more and more people left their farms to work in factories. It was made possible by the growth in large supplies of natural resources, large markets forfinished goods and improvements in technology.
