Case 15.2

Auto Online Web site Usage Survey (Part I)

Case Objective Students will perform descriptive analyses with SPSS using a data set provided to them. Answers to Case Questions Perform the proper descriptive analysis with SPSS Student Version on all of the questions on the questionnaire. Note: The data set for the Auto Online Web site Usage Survey is “AutoOnline.sav” and it is to bedownloaded from the Prentice Hall textbook web site. The data set’s variables are set up, for the most part, with variable names that are easy to associate with the questions in the questionnaire. It will be helpful if the “variable lists” option is set to “file” (Edit-Options-General) as the variable names will appear in the order of the associated questions on the questionnaire when doing SPSSanalyses. To answer the questions, students must: (1) identify the relevant question(s) on the questionnaire, (2) determine the response scaling assumptions, (3) identify and perform the proper descriptive analysis, and (4) maintain a printout or a file of output for each set of answers. The following table contains identification of the scaling assumptions of the various questions on thequestionnaire, and the appropriate SPSS output table follows the identification. Question 1 is a nominal scale, so use Frequencies.
