Cesar Chavez
Remaining important memories about Cesar Estrada Chavez, an important Mexican-American social leader. Cesar was born in United Statesof America, and he fought for the civil rights for farmer workers in U.S.A. He liked to help Mexican people. During his life, he had a hard infancy, it encouraged him to become in an important farmerworkers leader, and he created a big family.
First, accordingly with Cesar Estrada Chavez biography, he was born in March 31st, 1927 in San Luis, Arizona, near of Yuma, and he sadly died in April27th, 1993. His family lived there since his grandparents were emigrated from Mexico some years earlier. Also, his parents were from Mexico; their names were Mr. Librado Estrada and Mrs. Juana Chavez.Cesar only studied until 8th grade. This was because when he was 15 fifteen years old, he had to start to work to help his parents’ economy.
During the World War 2, Cesar Chavez was served in U. S.Navy, when he went back to United States of America; he continued working in the fields like a farmer worker. During late 50’s, Cesar he organized social activism in pro of farmer worker civilrights. Later, Cesar started a social movement called: (Si se puede) yes, can be done. In this social movement, Cesar and his wife taught Mexican Immigrants to read and organized voting registration drivesto become in new U. S, citizens. In 1962, Cesar Chavez worked together with Dolores Huerta and Gilbert Padilla to start a union, (A workers rights group) called The National Farm Workers Association(NFWA) to fight for “La Causa” (Spanish for “The Cause”) This association organized a lot of strikes to fight to improved their civil rights.
One of the personal consequences of Cesar participationin several boycotts was that he was in jail for short periods of time. In 1948, Cesar was married to Helen Fabela. Both eventually had eight children and thirty-one grandchildren. His birthday is...
