Christianity and its diffusion

Statistics can not show an exact number, they are much approximated though; religions in the world do not usually try to show a statistic, and every religion has adifferent way to count its members (like in Roman Catholic Church: people are just a member if they are baptized). Approximations inform that Christianity (catholic, orthodox, protestant, and others)count with a 33% of people in the whole world, being the greatest religion.

Branches of Christianity (Roman Catholic, Protestant, etc) have different beliefs and different histories, but the base isthe same: Christ; which indicates that Christianity is a Monotheistic religion; and depending on every one’s choice it might be a Hierarchical religion (for example The Pope for Roman Catholics) orautonomous religion (if people decide not to follow a central authority), normally this decision comes from the family’s tradition and it remains depending on the birth rate or the death rate.

I amfrom Colombia (localized in the North of South America); I was born within a Catholic family whose customs (like other catholic family) come from the bible: To go to the church every Sunday, to pray,to be thankful, not to work on religious holidays, among others; theses customs have been present generation through generation just like the language and the taboos, that usually involve sexualityand unnecessary pleasures (like when a catholic priest has sexual relations) what we call sins.

The diffusion of Christianity since the very beginning can be described in one word: Migration. AfterJesus’ death, apostles kept on teaching his thoughts in Jerusalem and the non-Jews began adapting theses costumes. Peter (apostle) travelled to Rome where he created the first occidental Christiancommunity.
