Economical Comparisons:
If instead of living in the United States you go live to Puerto Rico you would make a lot lessmoney. The GDP per capita in Puerto Rico is $17,200 while in The United States it is $46,400. In Puerto Rico you have way less chances to get job opportunities so the rate ofunemployed people is higher than in the U.S. In other hand the people in Puerto Rico use less electricity, consume less oil, have less babies, and live longer than thepeople in the U.S.
Cultural Differences:
While the Americans have more of an individualism culture, the Puerto Ricans have more of a collective culture. In fact for theAmericans nuclear family is more based on parents and children only while Puerto Rican’s are more of an extended thinking root of family, for example: parents, children,uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents, etc. In their behaviors and life thinking, Puerto Rico is more seen in a feministic way, while in the U.S is more seen in a masculineway.
Weather and Seasons:
Puerto Rico has tropical weather in difference of the states. United States has different kinds of weather because of the different seasons.They have cold winter in some states; Although summers are hot in almost all states. Puerto Rico counts with lots of beautiful beaches and national parks like NationalForrest “El Yunque”, “El Bosque Seco de Guánica” “Las Cuevas de Camuy” etc. United States counts with lots of National Parks too like the Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon, etc.Puerto Rico and United States have a lot of things in common and lots of things in difference. There is so much Tourism in both of them, and a lot of things to see.
