Costa Rica has so much more than it’s beautiful acres of vivid green forests, or animals, or places. It’s also about it’s culture, people, and history that matters. Most importantly, it Governmentand Constitution. Also, the history behind its constitution is something very interesting to know.
Costa Rica’s constitution was written on November 7, 1949. Jose Figueres was the first author of theconstitution and the one who passed it on. 1948 the revolution with Costa Rica occurred which caused Figueres to write a constitution. Also, as the years passed the constitution of Costa Rica has sumup to have a lot of authors or editors because the government keep changing its constitution.
The current president of Costa Rica is Laura Chinchillla Miranda. She is the first woman to becomepresident in Costa Rica. Costa Rica has two vice presidents: Alfio Piva and Luis Liberman. Also, Costa Rican Government is Democratic-Republican. Also, Costa Rica has no army because of the constitution in1949. Lastly, Costa Rica consists or 3 branches: Executive (the president and the two vice-presidents), Legislative, and Judicial (which is their supreme court).
The culture in Costa Rica isstrongly influenced by Spain. For that fact, that Spain conquered Central America in 1823-1838. Further more, Costa Rica primary language is Spanish, after that, it’s English and then German. Additionally,people from Costa Rica are referred to as “ticos” and their phrase is “pura vida” which is their own way of greeting you. The current population of Costa Rica is around 4 million.
In 1869, CostaRica became the world’s first country to make education free and obligatory. They have been invested about more that 28% of the national budgets on schools. Costa Rica has approximately 100 libraries.Also, Costa Rica has 9 universities.
