The Creeping Man, written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is ‘elementary’ ,as the great master Sherlock Holmes would put it, to a fan of the Sherlock Holmes mysteryseries – a set of twelve timelessly classic books. The story starts with a rather motley crew of protagonists: Holmes, the sleuth of Baker Streeet, Ralph Richardson, the venerable companion of Sir John Gielgud, Orson Welles, Professor Moriarty, and of course, Dr. Watson. These characters form the premise of a mystery story thatpresents many interesting situation. The version of the book I read was also accompanied by extremely well-done illustrations which make reading it that much moreinteresting.

I cannot say anything bad about the book – it is extremely interesting and engaging. It’s a real page-turner because once you start reading it, youwon’t be able to put it down. Another plus for the work is that it is relatively accessible to readers of all skill levels, so many people can enjoy this wonderfulstory. The illustrations also stimulate the mind because the reader can mix his thoughts with them to form a complete picture.

I really recommend the book becauseit’s a must-read classic. It’s the perfect book for travel, or to read during your daily commute to school or work. As I mentioned, it’s relatively easy to read andwonderfully engaging. I also feel that the plot of the book forces you to think logically and create situations in your mind; as such, it can help you to tackle yourday-to-day activities with a more logical mindset. A wonderful read!
