A number of teachers (regular, bilingual, and/or special ed.) claim that this course: Cross-Cultural Studies should be partof all teacher preparation programs. State if you agree or disagree with this premise and support your opinion to the group of people that you have been assigned (principal, two assistantprincipals, a case manager, and counselor). Use examples from your experience as a student, teacher and as a participant in this course. Cite the textbook, videos, or articles that were used in class. Youmay also cite other outside sources if needed, when explaining the issues of diversity and multicultural education.
The attached rubric will be used to evaluate your essay.

Cross-Cultural Studies has personally one of the best classes I have ever taken since I began my journey into Bilingual Education this semester. I believe that anyonetraining to be a teacher should take this course because it helps you to better understand other cultures and it gives you the freedom to make mistakes about stereotypes and helps you learn to notthink in stereotypes and actually see each student for who they are and not what they appear to be.
Looking back at our textbook, Multicultural Education in a Pluralistic Society, it makes you look atyourself first before trying to look at others. This book has taught me many things that I will use in the future. It has taught me that the bilingual educational system was not always as it is todayand even now there are still struggles that need to be addressed but the system is getting better. This book is able to explain in detail what all the terms are for example I didn’t know what“cultural pluralism” meant and the book was able to tell me that its two different cultures co-existing together in the same country without either one of them having to assimilate to the other.
