Cuzco
“The Archaeological Capital of America” is the largest and most visited tourist attractions of Peru. The imperial city was the largest city and capital of the Inca Empire, and then, won bythe Spanish conquistadors, his architecture is a fusion of Inca style and Iberian. His people preserve with great pride their customs and traditions. It also seems essential to know the mystic andenigmatic sanctuary of Machu Picchu. The Spaniards were never able to find this city, and was discovered by Western culture in 1911.
In Cuzco, tourist services are very different, hotels are numerousand varied, as travel agents, adventure sports, restaurants, craft centers, bars and anything else you may want.
Economy:
The official currency of Peru is "El Nuevo Sol" (PEN - S/.) divided in 100cents. Coins as 10, 20 and 50 cents as 1, 2 and 5 Soles are in circulation, and 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 Soles are also in circulation.
The American Dollar is accepted in the majority of commerciallocals, restaurants and service stations along the day. There are Foreign Exchange Office that uses all the kinds of currency, especially with American Dollars and Euros.
Some restaurants, hotels andestablishments accept Credit Cards: Visa, Masterd Card, Diners and American Express.
Climate:
Cusco is a city located at 3400 meters altitude above sea level. The climate has two seasons: The RainySeason, which lasts from November to mayo. And Dry Season, which lasts from April to October.
Sightseeing:
You can visit the Museo de Arte Pre Colombino (was an Inca ceremonial court around 1450A.D. In 1580 became into the MANSION of the conqueror Alonso Díaz and in 1850 of the Earl of Cabrera. It was restored to be the PRE-COLUMBIAN ART MUSEUM since June 2003).
