Código de Hammurabi

El rey Hammurabi de babilonia, conocido como “rey de la justicia” promulgo un nuevo código de ley babilónica: el código deHammurabi, una de las primeras leyes escritas de la historia, este código fue escrito en signos cuneiformes en una estela de piedra de diorita de forma cilíndrica y 2,4 m de altura.

El código promulgado por Hammurabi contiene 282 leyes escritas por escribas en doce tabletas

A diferencia de leyes anteriores, en este código están escritas en acadio, el idioma diario en Babilonia, para que pudiera serleído por cualquier persona alfabetizada.23 El código tiene una estructura específica y estipula un castigo para cada transgresión de la ley.
