The Picture of Dorian Gray depicts how moral corruption works. Dorian Gray is a sweet, beautiful and naive boy. He meets Basil Hallward, a very recognized artist which ends up doing his best work bymaking a portrait of Dorian. The book is about how this magical portrait ruins Dorian’s life and leads him to downfall. He wishes that the portrait Hallward painted would grow old in his place, underthe influence of Lord Henry; Dorian begins to explore his senses. The more evil Dorian is, the uglier his portrait becomes yet he remains flawless. This essay is a comparison between Oscar Wilde’sbook “The Picture of Dorian Gray” and the movie. In the movie, Dorian returns to London after his grandfather dies and during the welcome celebration he receives a gift, a painted portrait by BasilHallward. While Basil is making this beautiful portrait, Lord Henry is with him and upon viewing this painting for the first time he asks Dorian if he’s not afraid of growing old and losing his youthfulbeauty. Dorian believes every single word and decides to make a pact with the devil; he ensures the portrait Hallward has painted would age rather than him.

He meets her in a bar then goes to her play which is Hamlet instead of Romeo and Juliet. Dorian went to meet her on his own instead of led by Lord Henry atthe bar. Another change was that Dorian threw away his affair with Sybil not because of her terrible performance but instead it is because his friends disapproved and Henry took him to the barconvincing him that he could fed up his needs in other ways. I like it better that Henry ruined the love story between both of them instead of Dorian being a bad person.
In the book, it is Lord Henry that...
