“Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces
in its users insanity, criminality, and death”
Harry J. Anslinger
In Colombia drugs are the degradation ofthe humanity, but we could be the richest country in the world. In our country we have the guerrilla that denies any participation in the drug trade, but we know that this it`s not true. TheRevolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia earns hundreds of millions of dollars a year from the drug trade. If drugs were legal the funds were spending on the criminal justice could be used in infrastructure, health, and education.
If drugs were legal in Colombia, we would reduce addiction rates for two reasons:
• First, people use drugs because they are illegal; they might be curious or just bored. For that reason is very important than our kids have a free time under parents control.
• Second, if drugs were legalized, we could spend the money that we spend on the criminal justice systemon treatment of addicts.
Drugs don't solve problems, of course. And using drugs often causes other problems, but in a free society, adults should be permitted to do whatever they want, thinkingthat they are prepared to assumed the consequences of their own choices and that they choices not affect others. In a practice people must take all the consequences of their own actions, that`s onereason to restrict our freedom.
I think, the consumption of drugs has the effect of reducing men’s freedom in the range of their interests and their ability to choose the important human aims. Studies ofthe social factors involved in drug use have mostly focused either on adolescence or young adulthood, but surprisingly a significant amount of cocaine users may not initiate use until middleadulthood.
Some people argue that legalizing drugs is the only way to win the drug war. But the consequences of legalizing drugs would make a large problem completely out of control. Drugs doesn`t hurt...
