Since July the 1th in 1913,when “El Tiempo” was bought by Enrique Santos Calderon for $5000 pesos to Alfonso Villegas Restrepo, this organization has had many changes in its structure and must have to deal with all kind ofexperiences, some of them good but some of them problematic. Presently, the organization does not longer belong to the Santos family but it is owned by the Spanish Group “Planeta”.
In this paper, it willbe showed different aspects about the structure of El Tiempo, and from this point, how this organization is facing the new globalized world, so it will be covered topics such as: Good and badqualities of the company, ideas implemented in terms of organization, etc.
The information used in this paper was found mainly on the Internet and organized based on the book worked in class in theuniversity El Politécnico “Market Leader”. The purpose of this researched is to get familiar with some of the English business terms learned in class through a real Colombian company.
1. EL TIEMPO ANDITS ORGANIZATION
Presently the group Planeta owns El Tiempo. Planeta is a Spanish group which has a lot of experience in Television and Publicity but not that much in press. Planeta also owns LaRazón and Avui in Spain.
