Ireland
Presenter: Welcome to Ireland, there is nothing more interesting than venture into society of the country we visit or the language of the country we are learning and to learn how they live, how they talk and what are their customs. Ireland is a beautiful place in which you are going to know everything about its culture.

First station: Luz
Language: Some people don’t realize thatIreland has 2 official languages. The principal functional language of most residents is English, though most of the population has the ability to use some Irish. Under the Irish constitution, both languages have official status, with Irish being the national and first official language of the Republic of Ireland. It is recognized as a minority language in Northern Ireland. Irish is also anofficial language of the European Union.

Origin of Ireland: the mean of Ireland comes from the original Ireland language. It is a combination of two words: “eire” (gaelic) and saxon term “land”

Coin: In the republic, theyuse the Euro as official coin, while in the North of Ireland they use pounds sterling.

Flag: It is formed by three colors: green, white and orange. The green represents the antiques elements of the originary population of the island. The orange is in honor to the protestant England king. The white color is a symbol of desire for peace.

Personality: They are friendly and funny.
Sports:the Gaelic football is similar to regular football, but this game is play with the hands, that is, the ball is hit with the hands. The rugby is another game in Ireland.

Second Station: Roinmar

Pubs: This term refers to the Irish habit of frequenting public houses or bars. Traditional pub culture is concened with more than just drinking, even though Ireland has a reconized problem withover-consumption of alcohol. Tipically pubs are important meeting places, where peple can meet with their friends and neighbors in a relaxed atmosphere. Its music in this pubs is “traditional Irish music”. Also, on the pubs sell differents types of foods and its decoration on inside and outside are style to past centuries.

Holiday: The national Holiday in the Republic is Saint Patrick’s Day, 17 Marchand is marked by parades and festivals in cities and towns across the island of Ireland, and by the Irish diaspora around de world. The festival is in memory to Saint Patrick, the patron of Ireland. On this date all the people use the clothing Green and many people use small clover-shaped in their clothing.
Also, the Irish celebrate Halloween (Celtic New Year Festival) is celebrated as a way toremember their origins. The festivals hard three days.

Clover: three leaf clover means: (tree divine persons in the one God). Father, son and holy spirit.

Traditional Folklore: Leprechauns these cute Little men-elf, they are part of the mythology and folklore of the country.

Third station: Richeli
Smoking: This is prohibited in closed areas, for example, shops, restaurants, pubs, barsand so on. It is common to see people in the door of restaurants and clubs smoking outside.
Did you know…? There are no snakes in Ireland. According to legend, Saint Patrick, patron saint of the country, banished all snakes from the island and they never returned.
Other of Irish's many curiosities compared to English is the absence of words that directly translate into "yes" or "no." Rather,Irish speakers answer questions requiring a positive or negative by verb repetition. A recognizable example can be heard in a construction used by speakers of Ireland’s common dialect, Hiberno-English: When asked if someone is going to the pub?,” the answer might be “I am,” as opposed to “yes.”
