Africa is the third biggest continent. To its north is the Mediterranean Sea; to its east is the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean, and to its west is the Atlantic Ocean.
It hasmore than 40 countries. All of them with their own natural resources, weather, agricultural and economic activities. Here are two of these countries: Egypt, which has a prosperous textile industry, andis famous for its pyramids and other important monuments of the pharaohs’ times. Tanzania, where Mount Kilimanjaro is. This mountain is the highest point in Africa (5,895 m.).
Africa has severalrivers. The most famous is the River Nile, which is the second longest river in the world (the longest is the Amazon). It begins in Lake Victoria –the world’s second biggest lake.
It also has the biggestdesert in the world: the Sahara, which Stretches across the north of Africa.
Besides, there are extensive savannas (flat land covered with grass, usually with few trees).
Africans grow coffee, tea,cotton, sugar cane, cocoa, etc. depending on the area and climate.
The inhabitants of Africa are mainly young people. There are several ethnic groups. For example, there are native tribes likepygmies (who are very short people); the black; the white, who live in South Africa; and others.
