Traditional Food:
Italian cuisine is characterized by its extreme simplicity, with many dishes having only four to eight ingredients. Cheese, ham and wine are a major part of the cuisine,with many Coffee, specifically espresso, has become important in Italian cuisine. Pasta happens to be the most popular food item in Italy. There are some regions that are known for certain particulardishes. For example Naples is the center for pizza whereas tortellini originates from Bologna and Risotto comes from Milan.
Customs:
Italians generally dress well and appropriately, tending to bemore formal in their attire than most northern Europeans and North Americans.
They are not big breakfast eaters, they usually have a cappuccino and a croissant or bun for breakfast and they have thisstanding up at the bar counter. 
Their hours of business for shops are usually from 9.30 ? 13.30, after which most shops shut for siesta time then reopen from 16.30- 19.30. 
People do not call eachother by their Christian name until they’re invited to do so.
When greeting friends there are usually two kisses – first on the right cheek, then on the left.  With a stranger a handshake issufficient.
Flags:
The Italian Flag is tricolour featuring three equally sized vertical pales of green, white, and red, with the green at the hoist side. Its current form has been in use since 19 June 1946and was formally adopted on 1 January 1948.
