1. Is it ethical to sell a product that is, at best, only mildly effective? Discuss

Almost every personal care products are mildly effective. Many beauty products such as shampoos, cosmetics andeven diet pills are mildly effective, people know that, and still buy them. People don’t consider it unethical because mostly everyone knows beauty products might not work the same way on everyone, sothen, the question or doubt usually comes with the price of the product. What might be considered unethical by some is not to clarify the mild effect of the product. Maybe commercials or productspackages should state and clarify expectations on the possible effects the product will have.
2. Is it ethical to exploit cultural norms and values to promote a product? Discuss
It depends on whatyou are trying to sell. If you are promoting cultural norms or values such as non smoking campaigns, evironmental care, recycling or even campaigns to minimize alcoholic consumption, then it is notunethical. However if the exploiting includes offences to any race or religion, then it becomes unethical.
3. Is the advertising of Fair & Lovely demeaning to women or is it portraying a productnot too dissimilar to cosmetics in general?
“Cosmetics are substances used to enhance the appearance or odor of the human body” to correct, or highlight specific body areas, and to help women ormen to look and feel prettier. And are oriented or intend to all different races or ethnic groups. While Fair & Lovely is also aimed at Asian women to feel better or prettier about themselves byoffering them a beauty product, they should not be positioned as to "if women do not use the product, then it would cause them not to achieve their career goals"
