GOVERNMENT OF NORTH KOREA
* The North Korean government is the executive branch of the state, according to the Constitution of North Korea. In practice, thehighest decisions are made by the National Defense Commission of North Korea which was led by its Chairman, Kim Jong-il, until his death on the 17th of December 2011.
* He was succeeded by histhird son kim jong-un. He was proclaimed the Eternal General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Eternal Chairman of the National Defense Commission in 2012. His birthday is a publicholiday in the country.
* Many reports indicate that the human rights violations under the leadership of Kim Jong-il are continued by Kim Jong-un, ordering to kill defectors, conducting publicexecutions and sending people to political prison camps.
