Introduction

Science and philosophy would be the base of all civilizations since ancient times, science has been discovered when the need to solve something arises and thatknowledge is applied with the purpose to sustain something or solve something. Since ancient times the human thought has been excelled to improve itself to understand the reality of the world and the universe and their relationship with the man and this reflection led to the creation of the philosophy as a fundamental thing to be in harmony with the universe.
Ancient Greece flourished by it powerful tomanipulate many things but above all to manipulate science and philosophy as the main important thing to the civilization or society. Ancient Greece was the home of the biggest philosophers of all the times, they made greatest changes in their society, but their knowledge is important in our times because their contributions have been used and applied in our life and they has been influencedtoday’s societies in many aspects as one of the most important which is government. Science is the motor of the civilizations, because it give us the opportunity to enrich our knowledge about the world and how it works and that did the Greek scientist, they wanted understand and to apply their understanding to give to the society something valuable and useful and their legacy has been survived to ourtimes and their contributions are the base of the today’s science. There were many philosophers and scientists in ancient Greece, but only few of them helped to the development of new forms of government, new codes of ethics and scientific inquiry that is really important to the modern world.

Ancient Greek philosophy arose in the 6th century BCE andcontinued through the Hellenistic period, at which point Ancient Greece was incorporated in the Roman Empire. It dealt with a wide variety of subjects, including political philosophy, ethics, metaphysics, ontology, logic, biology, rhetoric, and aesthetics. Many philosophers today maintain that Greek philosophy has influenced much of Western thought since its inception.
Some claim that Greekphilosophy, in turn, was influenced by the older wisdom literature and mythological cosmogonies of the ancient Near East. The Greek philosophy were expanded to others new territories and it influenced in many factors as government, politics, ethics etc. Subsequent philosophic tradition was so influenced by Socrates as presented by Plato that it is conventional to refer to ancient Greek philosophy prior toSocrates as pre-Socratic philosophy. The period following this until the wars of Alexander the Great is referred to as classical Greek philosophy, followed by Hellenistic philosophy.
Greek philosophy had many periods of expansion and each one followed by a mayor exponent of that period of time or that change in philosophy, we can find three mayors exponents: Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and alsoPythagoras one of the first philosophers to introduce philosophy.

Pythagoras of Samos was an Ionian Greek philosopher, mathematician, and founder of the religious movement called Pythagoreanism. Most of the information about Pythagoras was written down centuries after he lived, so very little reliable information is known about him. He was born on theisland of Samos, and might have travelled widely in his youth, visiting Egypt and other places seeking knowledge. Around 530 BC, he moved to Croton, a Greek colony in southern Italy, and there set up a religious sect.
