Resumen
La hepatitis alcohólica, consecuencia frecuente del consumo crónico de altas
cantidades de alcohol durante un largo periodo de tiempo se presenta típicamente
en el rango de edad entre 40-60 años con un desarrollo y pronóstico variable; por
lo que también es necesario tomar en cuenta características fisiológicas propia s
del paciente y comorbilidades, además de la situaciónsocio-económica del
mismo, con el objeto de analizar su influencia sobre la evolución natural de la
enfermedad. Actualmente la aparición de dicha patología e n edades tempranas se
convierte en unaposibilidad preocupante, por lo cual se suma a la lista de
consideraciones factores referentes a la edad de inicio del consumo, tipo y
volumen ingerido de alcohol. La trascendencia socio -cultural e inclusoeconómica
sobre la presentación de enfermedades asociadas al hígado en un grupo etario
altamente productivo de la sociedad se podría convertir en una alarmante
situación epidemiológica.

Abstract
Alcoholic hepatitis is a frequent conseq uence of c hronic a lcohol consumption in
high quantities, for a longperiod, it usually appears between 40 to 60 years with a
changeable development and diagnostic.
First of all it i s necessary to c heck the c haracteristics of patient, like patient´s
backgroundillnesses and social-economic status , to analyze the influence over the
natural evolution of illness. W hen the illness s hows at earlier ages it could be
alarming to society, in this case is necessaryto consider factors related to
beginning of consumption of the patient. There are other factors that influence the
increase of the illness such as the amount and type of alcoho l consumed per day.The social, cultural and economic importance about this illness i n young people
can end in a frightening epidemiological situation causing a decreasing in the
development of the society because...
