Imperialism is defined as a system of those regimes that wish to extend the domain of one country over another or others through military force, economic or political. However Capitalism is definedas an economic system based on the dominance of capital as a production and creates wealth with hardly any intervention.
This essay is about the colonization of Mexico and about how it got itsindependence, since it was conquered by Hernan Cortez in 1521 and how Mexico became a colony of Spain, until 1821 when Mexico won its battle for independence which happened in 1810 -1821.
Hernan Corteslanded in Yucatan, where he defeated the Maya of Tabasco and founded his first city, Santa Maria de la Victoria. Here the Indian caciques gave him twenty slave women, among whom was Malintzin also knownas"La Malinche", which became his wife and translator. When they reached the land of the Totonac, founded the city of Villa Rica de la Vera Cruz here was proclaimed Captain-General, to obey only theKing, and Diego Velasquez. The Totonac, failed to pay taxes to the Aztecs of Tenochtitlan, and became the allies to Hispanics. On August 16, 1519, Hernan Cortes began the expedition into Mexico with 400Spanish and 13,000 Indians.
Halfway there Cortez gained the support of the Tlascalans, implacable enemies of the Aztecs. On hearing the emperor Moctezuma II ordered some attacks against theSpanish, but could not stop Cortes reached Tenochtitlan on November 8, 1519. A few days later Montezuma was taken prisoner. But Cortes had to return to the coast to face Panfilo de Narvaez, sent by DiegoVelasquez. Returning to a great rebellion broke out Tenochtitlan of the Aztecs tired of the outrages that were foreigners, especially the captain Pedro de Alvarado. The rebels, led by the new HueyTlatoani Cuitlahuac, succeeded in expelling the Christians in the early morning of July 1, 1520 calles as "La Noche Triste". In Tlaxcala, Hernán Cortés organized an expedition to return.
