Rock
Rock was born in the United States in the early 1950s. From this derive may other genres. Is usually interpreted with a guitar or an electric guitar, bass, drums and voice, but in some cases,the piano is added or sometimes, the organ.
It is derived from other types of music such as blues, rhythm & blues and country also some jazz, gospel and folk. The rock has always had a great swingand is characterized by the different styles that it has because each style has something that sets it apart from other.
The rock influenced the born of new styles of music, for example: The folkrock, blues rock, country rock, jazz-rock and fusion.
In the early 1960s, start to rock The Beatles and the called “British invasion” with the Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Small Faces, The Who, TheYardbirds, The Animals. The born of the mod movement led by several of these groups. Early to the middle 1960s.
In the United States initiated the so-called "surf rock" genre which are the Beach Boys itsgreatest exponents, with catchy melodies and lyrics that spoke of beach lifestyle and carefree affluent youth.
Bob Dylan used an electric guitar based folk songs, creating folk rock. I follow TheByrds, Simon and Garfunkel or Crosby, Stills and Nash.
The psychedelic rock was born in California with the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, Love and Iron Butterfly or pop rock influencedby the hippies of The Mamas and The Papas and Association.
In the 70s decade, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Blue Cheer, begin to combine elements from other musical genres and feel theroots of what would become another genre, heavy metal.
Emerge the glam rock artists such as T. Rex, Queen, Bowie, Roxy Music, Alice Cooper, Slade and Sweet, who joined others like Lou Reed or theStooges. The updated glam, with provocation and makeup, the freshness of the rock and roll of the 50s against the virtuosity of progressive rock, punk influence and subsequently in all genres born from it...
