What are the possible solutions?
The possible solutions that My friends and I have discussed about the topic are:
1) Old´speople home or a retire home.
2) Live with a relative
3) Live in her house with a nurse
We chose the second option which is that she should live at home with a private nurseand the nurse could take care of her. Because the relatives of the old lady could visit often and could be pending of her.
Although she would feel very happy being at home andnot in a retirement home and also because she would feel abandoned by her own relatives.
Further Discussion:
1) Do you have older members in your family who are in a similarsituation? If yes, how has your family dealt with it?
No, none of us have a similar situation.
2) If no, do you have friends who have elderly relatives in homes or are takencare of by a nurse?
But, Diana has a friend who has a similar situation, and she told us that her friend has his grandmother sick and his mother is very old. She lives with himand he has a private nurse to care of her because he doesn’t have time to care of his grandmother due to his job and because he lives only with his grandmother, but on weekendshe shares activities with his grandmother.
3) How do you feel about old people’s homes? Do you think it should be the family´s responsibility to care for their old?
Well, wearrived at a conclusion and we all said that we feel bad and disappointed because the elderly people deserve to feel loved and important because they have been responsible oftheir children without asking anything in return. And yes, we think it should be the responsibility of the family and they should take care of them very well no matter what.
