Persuasive speech

Persuasive speeches are used to convince the public to adopt a particular viewpoint. This type of speech includes facts to support an opinion. Theinformation contained in persuasive speeches should be investigated and they should include references. The person giving a speech deterrent to choose an opinion and holding it over itself. In class(INCO 4015), we presented the video "the story of stuff" the same is a great example of what is a persuasive speech. However, this discourse seen filling the perception of the audience, this speechcomes the right of the citizen. Well during the development of this paper know.
Before you can describe and express my opinion about this film I decided to seek information in order todefend my premise and had a little more validity. The film, put online on December 4, 2007, is narrated by Annie Leonard, who has an undergraduate degree from Barnard College and a bachelor's degree fromCornell University in city and regional planning. The documentary is sponsored by the Tides Foundation and Funders Workgroup for Sustainable Production and Consumption, with Free Range Studios toproduce films. According to the site, there are more than 4 million people who watched the documentary. Ralph Nader referred to the film as "a model of clarity and motivation."
This documentary describesthe materials economy, a system consisting of extraction, production, distribution, consumption and waste. This system extends to people, government, and the corporation. His view is substantiated byseveral statistics. Certain statements are:
• "... over 50% of U.S. federal tax money now is for the armed forces ..."
• "Of the 100 largest economies on Earth now, 51 are corporations."
• "We[the U.S.] we have 5% of the world's population but consume 30% of the world's resources and create 30% of the garbage in the world."
• "80% of the planet's original forests have been lost."
