ABSTRACT
All organisms have the ability to identify a positive or negative change in the environment and to react to this by having a pathological or physiological effect, this is known as irritability. (Vergara, 2002)
Irritability is the homeostatic ability of living to respond to stimuli that damage state welfare or beings. This feature allows them to survive andeventually adapt to changes that occur in the environment. (Vergara, 2002)
One of the characteristics of plants is that they tend to grow continuously throughout their life, growth not only increases the size of the plant, it also brings you through very limited means of mobility, a capacity for orientation so that placing itself in favorable positions, relative to light, nutrients, reproductionand growth, plant growth involves both the production of new cells and consequent elongation of the same. (Parker, 2000)
Plants like other living beings are able to perceive the stimuli generated by the environment and can respond to these through hormones, ie, chemical substances produced by specialized cells and whose function is to act on the functions of other cells away from your plant. Planthormones or phytohormones generate changes in the intensity and direction of plant growth. (Billings, 1968)
These stimuli can be given by the changes in light intensity, by contact with other objects, the gravitational force exerted on our planet living beings, and so on. (Billings, 1968)
The reactions or plant responses to these stimuli is termed tropism and are the following: phototropism...
