LA NARRATIVA DE LA DICTADURA EN
“LA SOMBRA DEL CAUDILLO” DE MARTÍN LUIS GUZMÁN

Resumen
La sombra del caudillo de Martín Luis Guzmán, novela de ambiente político; constituye un objeto de estudio privilegiado, pues por sus características hace posible efectuar un análisis de dos tipos de discurso: el historiográfico y el narrativo-literario. En lanovela de Guzmán hallamos una descripción artística del presidencialismo, sus mecanismos y su extraordinaria concentración del “poder” emanado de la Revolución Mexicana en el Caudillo. El autor al mantener en el anonimato a este personaje sólo lo designa como el general, el presidente, el caudillo… el dictador. La imagen del “poder” se ofrece en un constante claroscuro, es una gran metáforaenunciada desde el título; el “poder” como una sombra, intangible, difusa y obscura: es el despliegue de la fuerza que subyuga; oscurece y vuelve sucio todo lo que cae bajo la sombra de su dominio. A través del curso de la narrativa histórica-literaria, en nuestro caso la Novela de la Revolución, abordaremos el valor referencial que otorga el autor en sus personajes fictivos, que realizan accionessupuestamente fictivas; pero que éstas históricamente acaecieron en nuestro país durante el ejercicio del poder en los primeros años del presidencialismo mexicano postrevolucionario. Para la crítica literaria, historiadores, lectores y estudiosos de la ciencia política, aún existe la pugna por acertar si Martín Luis Guzmán se había inspirado para escribir esta novela en el ambiente de laadministración de Álvaro Obregón y en la pugna dentro de su gabinete entre sus ministros Adolfo de la Huerta y Plutarco Elías Calles. Al final del presente estudio se observará si esta interpretación era errónea, además de saber cuál fue el personaje que le sirvió al autor de modelo para su “caudillo” según los datos que F. Rand Morton aporta en su libro Los novelistas de la revolución mexicana,facilitados, según él, por el propio autor.

SummaryThe shadow of the leader of Martin Luis Guzman, extraordinary novel political environment, is a privileged object of study because their characteristics makes possible an analysis oftwo types of discourse: the historiographical and narrative-literary. In the novel we find a description of Guzman's artistic presidentialism, its mechanisms and its extraordinary concentration of "power" emanating from the Mexican Revolution in the Caudillo. The author to remain unnamed to this character designated as the only general, the president, the leader ... the dictator. The image of"power" is offered in a constant chiaroscuro, is a great metaphor set out from the title, the "power" like a shadow, intangible, diffuse and obscure: the deployment of the force which subjugates, dark and dirty back all what falls under the shadow of his domain.
Throughout the course of literary-historical narrative, in our case the Novel of the Revolution, will address the reference value given bythe author in his fictional characters who perform actions supposedly fictional, but historically they occurred in our country during the year of power in the early post-revolutionary Mexican presidency. For literary critics, historians, readers and scholars of political science, there is still struggling to ascertain whether Guzman had been inspired to write this novel in the environment of theadministration of Alvaro Obregon and in the struggle within his cabinet ministers among its Adolfo de la Huerta and Plutarco Elias Calles. At the end of this study will see if this interpretation was erroneous, in addition to knowing what was the character that the author served as a model for his "caudillo" according to the data F. Rand Morton makes in his book The novelists of the Mexican...
