Restaurant Review: Las Papitas

A few months back a new restaurant, Las Papitas, opened downstairs so we decided to check it out. And, we’ve been going there ever since. The staff is extremely friendly (most of them speak English), and the food is great.
Las Papitas has a concept unique in Montevideo… they just serve French fries. French fries with every type of dipimaginable. In fact, they have more than 20 dips to choose from. They recently added a picante dip to the menu for us (it’s not posted on the menu, so you’ll have to ask for it especially if you want to try it). Thanks guys!
But, we recently discovered our favorite item at Las Papitas, Revuelto Gramajo (UY$129). Revuelto Gramajo consists of skinny fries, egg, cheese, panceta (bacon), greenonions and red bell peppers fried together. If you ask for picante, they’ll throw in some diced chile pepper or Tabasco for you. It’s delicious, and the closest thing to Carne Asada Fries I think we’re going to find in Montevideo.

They also serve sweet potato fries (boniatos), which are good. We haven’t tried their Canadian Poutine yet, but it’s a dish that originated in Quebec and is supposedto be good. They also serve smoothies, which we haven’t tried yet (once the weather warms up we’ll definitely be sampling the smoothies).
Prices start at UY$49 for a small cone of fries (no dips), and go up to UY$139 for a large cone of fries with 3 dips.

Executive Summary
Las Papitas is a locally owned fastfood outlet that will be positioned as an international franchise through our creative approach to the company's image and detail presentation. Las Papitas will provide a combination of excellent food at value pricing, with fun packaging and atmosphere. Las Papitas is the answer to an increasing demand for snack-type fast food, to be consumed while window shopping , walking around inside ashopping mall, or crowded areas in main places of the city.
In today's highly competitive environment, it is becoming increasingly difficult to differentiate one fast food outlet from another.
Our main priority, after opening our first location in 21 y Ellauri is to establish one outlet in a crowded mall, preferably in one of prominent shopping malls in Montevideo. Later, our effort will be a furtherdevelopment of more retail outlets through out food carts in public and private locations.
This plan is prepared to obtain a location for the initial launch of this concept. Additional financing will need to be secured for the two subsequent outlets, anticipated in month 13 and early in year three. The financing, in addition to the capital contributions from shareholders, will allow Las Papitasto successfully open and expand through year two. The initial capital investment will allow Las Papitas to provide its customers with a value-driven, entertaining experience through the creativity of its founders.
Las Papitas will entice youngsters to bring their friends and family with our innovative environment, fresh-cut Belgian fries, and selection of unique signature dipping sauces.
1.1Objectives
To establish a presence as a successful local fast food outlets and gain a market share in Montevideo's fast food industry.
To make Las Papitas a destination spot for teenagers and families.
To expand into a number of outlets by year three, and sell the franchise to neighboring metropolitan cities, such as Buenos Aires, Florianopolis, San Pablo and Rio de Janeiro.
1.2 Mission
Our maingoal is to be one of the most successful fast food outlets in Montevideo, starting with one retail outlet located inside a major crowded area as a "market tester."
