Romeo and Juliet
Along the streets of Verona walk Capulet men, Sampson and Gregory, as they brag about conquering Montague men and women.Though they talk a lot they start to doubt each others bravery. Knowing that a fight will happen, but not wanting to start it, the Capulet men bight their thumbs casually at the Montagues. A fight breaksout.
Benvolio tries to stop the fight and asks Tybalt to keep the peace but Tybalt wants no part of it. The prince shows up and breaks up the fight. He tells both houses that if there is afourth civil brawl then both Lord Capulet and Lord Montague will pay the cost with their lives.
Lady Montague is worried about her son Romeo, because he has been in a state of depression for awhile. When Romeo arrives to his home, Benvolio asks him what’s going on and why he has been so sad lately.
Romeo answers that he is in love with a girl named Rosaline that doesn’t love him back.Benvolios solution to Romeos problem is that Romeo should look at other women. But Romeo knows that looking at other women will only make him think more about Rosaline.
Thirteen year old Juliet’sparents want to marry her off to Paris. Lord Capulet is talking to Paris, telling him to wait to summers to marry Juliet. His advice to Paris is to win Juliet’s heart first. So in order for Juliet tomeet Paris, Lord Capulet is going to throw a party.
Romeo and his friends are going to go to Lord Capulet’s party secretly. Benvolio wants to show Romeo all the beautiful women that will be at theparty.
Lady Capulet is looking to talk to Juliet in private but once she’s alone with her she feels uncomfortable and needs the nurse to be there. The nurse starts totalk about the memories of Juliet as a baby and how she’s watched her grow into a young woman.
Lady Capulet asks Juliet what her opinion is on marriage. Juliet responds by saying that she has not...
