2.3. Literary Analysis of The leaders
    This literary analysis comprises the content and form of the story. In content, we analyze the author's ideas and the meaning of his work. In the form, how the content is organized.It will be discussed later.

2.3.1. Content
    In the content we will analyze the title, social issue, theme, characters, atmosphere and dramatic action.
    The title is important because it indicates a lack of integrity and leadership necessary to keep the social order. The title reflects the overall content of the work, as it relates to those leading the protest, along with Coyotes.    The social issue of the work is the tyranny that, according to the Student practical dictionary of the Spanish Royal Academy of Language, "is an abuse of power, strength or superiority. For example, “Treat students with tyranny. " (Page 694). It is characterized by the tyranny of both the Principal to his students and leaders to their classmates. The author focuses on the issue in the need to useforce itself as the Principal does or peer group pressure as leaders do to maintain their leadership. The sources used by the author are his experiences at the Colegio San Miguel de Piura in northern Peru in 1952. So it is a realistic recreation.
    The specific theme of the short story is the school violence. The relationship between the social issue and the subject is that the abuse of poweris a form of psychological violence as well. Considering this, the subject is psychological in nature. The sub-themes are courage, unity, friendship and fear. The theme is revealed through circumstances due to the lack of organization and coordination of the protest. The relationship between the title and the theme is the need of public security vs. Sadism of The coyotes. The relationship betweenthe subject and the atmosphere is that anxiety, tension, and fear aroused violence and other collective passions. In this case, the author's thesis is social.

    The characters have real personalities because they feel love for the school and their teachers, they are afraid of the principal, and also exhausted, scared and hungry. They also have psychological depth or complexity as they arebrave, use their street experience as Lu does, challenge each other and compete for leadership, they like public speaking, to command and be admired, they don’t get along with the director, try to impose themselves by force, but children express their wishes too. Their motivations are forming a committee to face the director because of the removal of the exams schedule, but in reality, Theleaders, now want to revenge on Lu to return the original leadership to The coyotes.                                           
    Also, have consistency and psychological force as prevail union and friendship. There are the author’s concerns directly reflected in the protagonist, as it is an autobiographical story. There is verisimilitude in the characters and in the dramatic action, because theydeclare their love to the school and their teachers, as they stand facing bravely and fight among themselves, although they all are leaders. Thus, the characters contribute to the development of dramatic action, because fooled by the director, The leaders and The coyotes unite and students are left with the school leaders until the decisive hour. The character who carries the weight of theframework is Lu, the new leader of the Coyotes, who has no conscience and does not care with anyone as long as he achieves his goals. He is the one who dares to take the first step and go beyond. He is the one who directs the showdown against elementary and high school. And he is the last of the group to realize and accept their failure.
