GENERAL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

1. GENERAL
This section provides information on the NEC New Pasolink 7/8/13/15/ 18/23/26/38 GHz 4MB (2 MB × 2)/8 MB (8 MB × 1, 2 MB × 4)/17 MB (2 MB × 8)/34 MB (34 MB × 1, 2 MB × 16) point-to-point digital radio system. The ( ) GHz ( )MB digital microwave radio system isconfigured in Hot-standby (HS) system. Included herein are system configuration, system performance, RF channel assignment, and alarm and control.

2. SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
This system consists of TRP-[ ]G-[ ] Transmitter-Receiver (Outdoor Unit(ODU)) and MDP-[ ]MB-[ ] Modulator-Demodulator (Indoor Unit (IDU)) and Hybrid (see Fig. 2-1). The [ ]GHz 4 MB (2 MB × 2) digital radio system is used to communicate two data streams at 2.048 Mbps (equivalent to 30 voice channels) between two stations. The [ ]GHz 8 MB digital radio system is used to communicate one data stream at 8.448 Mbps (equivalent to 120 voice channels) or four data streams at2.048 Mbps (equivalent to 30 voice channels) between two stations. The [ ]GHz 17 MB (2 MB × 8) digital radio system is used to communicate eight data streams at 2.048 Mbps (equivalent to 30 voice channels) between two stations. The [ ]GHz 34 MB digital radio system is used to communicate one data stream at 34.368 Mbps (equivalent to 480 voice channels) or sixteen (16) data streams at 2.048 Mbps(equivalent to 30 voice channels) between two stations. A system block diagrams of 2 MB × 2, 2 MB × 4, 2 MB × 8 and 2 MB × 16 systems are shown in Fig. 2-2, and that of 8 MB × 1 and 34 MB × 1 systems are shown in Fig. 2-3.
