1.1

Components

Runtime environmentSTAD is a Java J2EE application, set up to run on Open Source middleware, and has been tested against: • • • • JBoss 4.2.2 GA MySQL 5.0 Quartz 1.6.4 Lucene 2.4.0

From the STAD code site you’ll not only need to get the latest version of the STAD ear, but also the email.properties file, both which can be downloaded from the download section. 1.2 Development environment STAD has been developed onGanymede, with a couple of additional plug-ins: • • XDoclet 1.2.3 AccessBean Generator

XDoclet is used to build the home and remote interfaces of all stateless session beans, as described in the EJB’s deployment descriptor, while the AccessBean Generator is used to create access beans from those generated remote interfaces. An AccessBean is a java class that provides access to a session beanwithout the programmer having to look it up in the JNDI context. For this a plug-in has been created, which, based upon the EJB’s deployment descriptor, can create these classes.
