Mexico. Mole, tequila and Independence Day
Mexico is a country known for its gastronomy and traditions, all these have a story behind, in this occasion I'mgoing to present you some fun facts about some unique factors of Mexican culture.
Mole poblano is a popular Mexican dish which consist of a mixture ofdifferent ingredients, this is one of the most representative dishes of Mexico which was first created by nuns, the story says that when the virrey was visitingPuebla, the bishop asked the nuns of the convent to make a special dish for the unique occasion, the term mole was given when mistakenly one of the nuns usedan incorrect term, she told to one of the nuns who was mixing the ingredients "que bien mole" instead of "muele".
For Mexicans one of the most significantdays is the Independence Day it is when we celebrate Mexico's independence from Spain , it is celebrated in September 16th when in fact it should be in September15th since Miguel Hidalgo gave the call of independence, in the morning of September 15, 1810. The ex-president of Mexico Porfirio Díaz was the one whochanged the celebration to September 16th because it was his birthday.
Mexico is well known for its tequila, tequila is a alcoholic beverage which is made fromblue agave. Mexican law states that tequila can only be produced in some limited regions of Guanajuato, Michoacán, Nayarit, Tamaulipas, and in Jalisco from wheretequila is originally from. Tequila which is considered national heritage property, has to be produced and bottled in Mexico for it to be considered tequila.
