THE NEED OF MURIALDO AND HIS ACTION IN CONTEMPLATION FOR THE INDIAN POOR YOUTH.
Through this a paper work first of all I woul like to present our saint Leonard Murialdo to the indian society andparticularly to the yongsters. Saint Leonard Murialdo is a saint of the poor and abndoned youth. He has done marvellous works for the upliftment of the downtrodden children and workers of his time in awonderful way. He was a dioceasan priest with extraordinary patience and love for the poor youth. Leonard was born in a rich family of Turin and He was invited by Don bosco many times to join and toassist him in his new congregation of salesians.The reason why he rejected his invitation is beacuase both had different spirituality and different temperement. The spirituality of Don Bosco andMurialdo was entirely different even though both were working for the poor youth of the same society at the same time of period.Murialdo has his own proper approach to the youth and to the needy aroundhim.The fundamental spirituality of Murialdo is Fare Tacere which means to do good and to be silent.Murialdo never liked to be known and appear for his works.He never published his achievemetns.Humilityand charity were the characteristics of Saint Leonard Murialdo.He perfectly blended action in contemplation and contemplation in action althrough out his life.Thus secondly through this paper work Iwould be focusing on the unique feature of Murialdo’s spirituality and his life style for the others. Thirdly I want to update the Saint Leonard for the present Indian and more particualr to Southindian needs where we are present at the moment. Saint Leonard is not only an outdated saint or ‘white alien saint of those days’ better he is the one whom the present age needs most.Our country isundergoing a situation which was similar to the sitaution which was exisitng in Murialdo’s time in Turin.We too have so many children in the street …poor and abandoned not only economically moreover...
