Neither Hero nor Villain
Since the dawn of time there have been certainpeople that, because of their brave, and moving actions, we call heroes. A hero, by definition, is a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. Everychildhood memory has the picture of a great hero, be it a Disney character or a real life person, but, every hero was accompanied by a villain. A villain can be described as a cruelly malicious personwho is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime. In some cases it’s hard to identify which is the hero and which is the villain. Sometimes the hero may have ulterior motives that make his gooddeeds seem villainous; or he may take actions that affect or ruin the lives of many innocent people. So, how do we know who is the hero and who is the villain? What do we call someone who has done greatdeeds but has also ruined the lives of many innocent people?
In modern times we consider Superman, Spiderman, Batman, as fictional heroes, and Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela as actualheroes. On the other hand we consider Lex Luthor , the Green Goblin, the Joker, as fictional villains, and Hitler, Osama Bin Landen, as actual villains. In previous centuries the concepts of heroes andvillains were seen in a different light. In Spain the conquistadors were considered heroes. The Spanish conquistadors were powerful and were acquiring monopolies; they brought power and wealth to Spain.In Europe they were seen as the greatest heroes because of their loyalty to their country and their drive to find new lands and treasures. In Spain the conquistadors were the only men that were braveenough to embark on unknown journeys. In their era, the Spanish conquistadors made amazing discoveries by conquering other lands.
