hristina is a girl of 19 years old, she lives in Argentina, and she is preparing her self for a model contest. Her parents are proud of her, because they know she will make a good job, butsomething is worrying her mom. Christina’s mom just notice how skinny is her daughter, and just a few days she heard a weird noise, it sound as a vomit. Now Christina is in the Buenos Aires’s hospital, herhealth is very serious, her parents discover her daughter suffers from bulimia.

This is only a typical example of an eating disorder, as Christina, they exist a lot of young teenagers that sufferthis disease. An important fact is that is not an exclusive illness for girls; also boys might suffer this disease.

According to “All about Health “ webpage an eating disorder is a compulsion toeat, or avoid eating that affects one’s physical and mental health. When most people hear of someone with an eating disorder they think is more a disease than a physical problem. But they don’t see thereality of the problem, it is more than stop eating, it reflects all the problems of the person. Sometimes they start an eating disorder to call the attention of their parents.

They exist differenttypes of eating disorders some of them are: anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and compulsive eating.
According to the Eating Disorders Statistics from the South CarolinaDepartment of Mental Health; one in 200 American women suffers from anorexia. Two or three in 100 American women suffer from bulimia.

These two are the most common of the ED, the causes of eatingdisorders are the combination of psychological, genetic, social, and family factors are thought to be involved.

Anorexia is characterized by a significant weight loss resulting from excessive dieting.Anorexics consider themselves to be fat, no matter what their actual weight is. Often anorexics do not recognize they are underweight .
