Effects of Alcoholism
Have people ever heard about the consequence of excessive drinking of alcohol? Have they realized thedamage that it can cause in their life? The uses of alcohol come from a long time ago. In ancient times alcohol was used as a method of ritualization. So we can say that alcoholic drinks have been presentin all cultures and civilizations of the world. The consumption of alcohol is represented today as a major public health problem throughout America and Europe.The goal of this essay is to inform aboutthe effects that the abuse of alcohol can have to people in their body, personal life, and working life.
The first effect that alcohol causes in a person’s life is physical damage. Each drink has alarge amount of calories and that is why if someone drinks frequently they will become fat soon. Their body shape will going to change notoriously. Another bad illness that this addiction can causeis cirrhosis or gastritis, which are diseases that are very serious for the body. Nobody wants to carry in the future those diseases. Also, alcohol causes brain damage that is irreparable. It is goingto kill the neurons and those are neurons that will never be recovered.” The new study counters a common belief that damage to brain cells occurs when the brain withdraws from long-term alcohol abuse,and not during alcohol consumption.” (Willis 3)
Secondly, and the most important thing is that consuming alcohol in big amounts is going to bring a person problems in their personal life for sure.The family is the first one that is affected when a person starts developing an aggressive conduct that these addiction brings, consume of alcohol.
