This band split up after the arrival of Freddy Mercury who formed the band Queen. in 1975the band created the album "At night at the Opera" which was the album that launched them to fame. With songs like "bohemian rhapsody" which made the band be known throughout the world. After this,the band began to multiple cds followed by several concerts along with the fame of the group until Freddy mercury was infected with AIDS

But May was not only a guitarist, he also was an astrophysicist who graduated from the Imperial College London. In 2006 he finished his doctorate and in 2007 he was appointed Rectorhonorary John Moores University.
