I chose this city because it is my birthplace and that is a very beautiful city with a lot of natural resourcesand beautiful scenery, friendly people and very start.

The history of the city of Medellin (Colombia), is shorter than the chronological history of Popayán other Colombian cities as, Cartagena, Cali and Bogota.

The valley where Medellín is located (the Aburrá Valley) was inhabited by indigenous peoples from the V century. C.approximately, was seen by the Spanish for the first time, just forty-nine years after the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the Bahamas in August 1541 during an expedition led by Jerónimo Luis Tejelo, who in turn took orders from Marshal Jorge Robledo. It was founded on March two, 1616 and erected as Villa de Our Lady of La Candelaria in Medellin on November fixty, 1675, through the years as the foundingdate was the second but in Decree seventeen of 1966 of the honorable council decree of the city as the official date of March two, 1616.

The crisis of the mafias

The 70s saw the rise of the Colombian of the drug mafias,it which would influence in the social problems political and of development of the city, and that would help to assign the title of "world's most violent city."

The crisiscaused by the mafia would affect the life of the city especially in the 80's due to the state's war against it, and he had to the city as the main stage. But the development of the mafia and their presence in the city due to a more complex process that involves social and political situations of the time. The phenomenon of hired killers, for example, is the encounter between a reality of socialmarginalization and the business of the breakthroughs illicit of the drugs.

the Mafias have produced a high cost in human lives, loss of investment in the city, and a delay in the development of the metropolitan area.

At the beginning of the XXI century the city continued to receive the negative effects of an illegal but lucrative business which led to an unprecedented crisis in the history ofthe "small cup of silver".

Medellin has been associated with violence, mafia cartels, Pablo Escobar, thugs and common criminals.

Metro history medellin

is Called metro (of metropolitan railway) or subway (of underground railway) to 'mass transit rail systems for passengers' operating in large cities to unitedifferent areas of the municipality and its immediate surroundings, high capacity, frequency, and separated

These systems operate on different lines that make up a network, stopping at stations not far apart from each other and located generally regular intervals. The service is provided by several units of electric cars circulating in training on rails. The metro is atransportation system faster and more capable than the tram or light rail, but not as fast or cover long distances ranging as commuter rail or commuter. It is indisputable ability to transport large amounts of people quickly over short distances, with minimal use of soil.
