To Save a Life
To Save a Life is a movie about a teenager named Jake who sees his childhood best friend kill himself in the school. He is devastated by this because he feels guilty. He feels like hedid nothing to stop that action in fact he feels like he just encouraged it. He begins being involved in church but this follows a bunch of challenges like his friends ditching him and his girlfriendbecoming pregnant. The theme is that you can do a big difference by simple actions whether it’s a bad change or a good one. The director’s purpose was to bring hope for the hurting and lonelyviewers. The genre is drama. It’s an inspirational movie it’s based in the point of view of teens. The movie conveys its point by slowly showing you the consequences of certain actions. The movie wasreleased in January 22, 2010. The action takes place immediately after Roger kills himself. The movie was done in North County, San Diego. The action takes place in their school; this is where Roger(Jake’s childhood best friend) shoots himself and where most of the challenges are faced.
The writer and producer was Jim Britt and Brian Baugh directed it. Jake Taylor played by Randy Wayne is themain character. Some other actors are Deja Kreitzberg (Amy, Jake’s girlfriend), Joshua Weigel (Chris, the youth pastor), Steven Crowder (Doug Moore, Jake’s “best friend”),D. David Morin (Mark, churchpastor), Sean Michael Afable ( Jonny, one of Roger’s friends who later becomes Jake’s best friend), Bubba Lewis (Danny, the pastor’s son), Robert Bailey Jr. (Roger, Jake’s childhood best friend), KimHidalgo (Andrea, her quick-to-accept-everyone demeanor plays a huge role in Jake feeling accepted in a place he would have never considered going just a month earlier.)
