USE OF PARAMETRIC MODELING TECHNIQUES

One of the advantages of solid modeling software is the ability of the software to represent geometric relationships in a parametric form. In aparametric model, the description of the model contains both a geometric description (shape, interconnectivity, etc) and specific numerical parameters (dimensions, number of instances, etc).Consider, for example, a simple parameterized solid model of a cylinder; the definition of the model contains both a geometric description defining the primitive shape (cylinder), and two numericparameters (radius and length) to fully define the model.
