There are many beautiful Monuments in El Salvador that goes back to the early 20th century. There are some modern monuments too. The Museo de Historia Natural or the Natural History Museum that is located in the south east section of Saburo Hiraopark, is being set up by the National Zoo to display the early mammal fossils. These comprise a giant sloth, a mastodon and around 20 other species of animals.
Near the zoo is theMuseo Militar or the Military Museum that houses the old castle like "El Zapote" barracks that was built in the year 1895. The military museum has weapons and army uniforms of the17th, 18th and early 20th centuries. The army of Salvador used these uniforms.
